Surrounded by the Asano River, Kanazawa has not suffered war damage, so the old townscape remains.

Kanazawa’s highlights are kanazawa castle ruins and kenrokuen garden, but there are attractions throughout the city, such as nagamachi samurai residences south of Korinbo, the Higashi Chaya District and The Main Town Chaya District representing the glossy Kaga culture, the townscape of Nishi chaya district, and the temple town on the hill south of the Hijikawa River.
