Hagi

萩

Hagi is located on the Sea of Japan side of Yamaguchi Prefecture.
Compared to the high level of publicity, the population is surprisingly small at 50,000 people, and it is a small town, but Hagi is the city that made the history of modern Japan.

Hagi is still a town that still retains its appearance in the Edo period.

In many other cities, land readjustment and large-scale development have greatly changed, but in Hagi, the ward division of the Edo period remains as it is, and it seems that the map at that time can still be used as it is.

Edoya Yokocho has a quiet appearance.
Tangerine trees are planted in the samurai residences of the time, surrounded by hedges and white walls.
It is said that this was the one that the family of the samurai who was troubled with life started as an internal employment at the end of the Edo period.
